4. Granola

Just like all of us, Lockwood loves the taste of granola. However, what she doesn’t love is how easy it is to eat much more than the recommended serving size of 1/4 to 1/3 cup. This can already add up to 200 calories. “That’s roughly the size of a open cupped hand,” she says, “I’m pretty sure anyone can mindlessly eat granola by the handful.”

What to eat instead: “Double check the label and make sure the sugar content is reasonable,” Lockwood suggests. “Less than 10 grams per serving is ideal.” And remember to use that measuring cup so you know you’re eating only one serving!
