2. Red meat

If you’re wondering which high purine foods are eaten the most (almost) worldwide, know that red meat is definitely at the top of the list. Gout and red meat shouldn’t be placed in the same sentence (or on a gout patient’s plate), unless they are intended to provide useful information about gout diet. 🙂

However, if you like “to devour” and enjoy every single piece of your red meat, you should opt for beef or pork rather than lamb. All meat products contain different amounts of purine, so it’s better to avoid them when you have gout.

Important info: Liver has the highest purine content of all meat parts and organs, no matter the animal source.
