Every food that contains sugar is classified as a “carb food”
As we said before, even natural aliments that contain sugar, such as fruits or honey, are considered carb foods. For instance, four bananas can be the equivalent of a whole chocolate.
“Many individuals don’t realize that natural sugars like honey and maple syrup contain just as many carbohydrates as refined white sugar. Limiting these sugars is key in reducing the number of total carbohydrates in an individual’s eating plan,” said Lori Zanini, RD, CDE, author of Eat What You Love Diabetes Cookbook.
That’s why it is recommended to eat fruits and other foods that contain carbohydrates in moderate amounts, especially because a high amount of carbohydrates can adversely affect your health.
