THE LEMON JUICE DIET FAD

This diet fad is promoted by many celebrities and is practically a juice detox diet. The recipe consists of maple syrup, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. You’re supposed to drink 6 to 12 glasses of this mix daily and then take a laxative right before bed.

Doing this, you WILL flush out your bowels, but it doesn’t detox your body of any toxins you may have. That is the job of your liver and kidneys, and they do a great job of it if they are healthy, of course. Taken to the extreme, this could be dangerous, leading to electrolyte imbalance and dehydration. We would steer clear of this one!
