Expired Food: Bread
5-7 days past expiration date
Bread can last about five to seven days past its expiry date. But look for mold around it, especially if kept in a moist environment. The ideal way to store bread is in a cool, dry place. And if you want to extend its shelf life, store it in the freezer, and it’ll keep for three to six months.
Of course, it will lose some freshness and flavor, but at least it will be safe to eat. The risk of eating expired bread is that some molds produce mycotoxins, which are poisonous and dangerous to eat or inhale.
Mycotoxins may spread through an entire loaf, which is why you should throw out the whole loaf if you see any mold. They can upset your stomach and cause digestive problems.

Thank you. Now I know.
very annoying to have to click on each page. can’t you make just one long list?
I spent 1 year and 1 day in Viet Nam. Because the war was going on most of the time we survived on C-Rations. These were the WW2 style, canned foods. all were marked WW2 1943 production date. They were all we had and weren’t all that bad. exception the Lima beans were awful. most were packed in a lot of grease.
When I was cleaning the fridge, I found a flip yogurt that had fallen down behind the drawer. It was nearly a year past the “best by” date. It was my favorite flavor, so I had check it out! It had separated, so I mixed it well, added the mix-in and tried it. It smelled good and tasted fine, so I ate it. That was about 5 yrs ago and I’m still alive and did not get sick.
So… if you have something that you’re wondering about – check it before you toss it out!
