8. Rye

Rye, a cereal grain related to wheat, could cause bloating in people, especially those sensitive to gluten. It is, however, nutritious and full of manganese, fiber, phosphorous, Vitamins B, and copper.

The fiber and gluten could be the reason for your discomfort, so it’s better to try out other grains and give up on rye. Oats, brown rice, quinoa, and buckwheat as well as other grains and pseudocereals should make it on your shopping list instead!

9. Dairy Products

What better way to add protein and calcium to your diet than through the addition of various dairy products to your diet? However, milk, cheese, cream cheese, butter, and yogurt could cause bloating.

Did you know that about 75% of the world’s population can’t break down lactose? This sugar molecule contained in milk is behind what is known as lactose intolerance.

If you’re lactose intolerant you could suffer from bloating, cramps, gas, and diarrhea. You could, however, avoid these symptoms by consuming butter or cream as well as fermented dairy like yogurt.

There are, of course, other alternatives on the market such as coconut, soy, almond, or rice milk!
