Mona de Pascua
Traditionally, the Mona de Pascua is given as an Easter gift to godchildren by their godparents in Spain. Resembling a large doughnut, it is topped with a hard-boiled egg or eggs, depending on the age of the godchild. Over time, the cake has undergone changes: chocolate eggs are used instead of real ones, a layer of apricot jam is added inside the cake, or chocolate glaze is added on top.
