Chocolate: I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t imagine a world without chocolate!
The problem is that not only are we eating chocolate faster than it can be produced, but countries that produce the tasty snack are seeing increased temperatures and less water, causing a significant decline in cocoa production. The situation gets even more difficult by the fungal disease frosty pod rot, which can destroy entire cocoa harvests at one go.
Fish: All fish species are being caught faster than they actually reproduce. This causes a strain on the depleting fish population and adds the delicious food to the endangered foods list. Research by scientists shows that by the year 2050, there won’t be any fish left if nothing is done to change the current fishing practices.
