Gluten
This is the protein found in triticale, wheat, rye and barley and some related conditions includes celiac disease, wheat allergy and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. For example, celiac disease involves an immune response, which is why it is classified as an autoimmune disease.
So, when a person with celiac disease is exposed to gluten, the immune system will attack the small intestine, and this leads to serious danger to the digestive system. Wheat allergies and celiac disease have very similar symptoms.
Symptoms of non-celiac gluten sensitivity are like those of celiac disease and include:
- Bloating
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Headaches
- Fatigue
- Joint pain
- Skin rash
- Depression or anxiety
- Anemia
