Fructose
This sugar found in vegetables, fruits, honey and agave has risen fast in the past forty years and increased obesity, heart and liver disease. In people with fructose intolerance, fructose isn’t properly broken down by the cells in the small intestine.
Also, people with an intolerance to fructose are often sensitive to FODMAPs. You should avoid foods like apples, agave, soda, watermelon, pears, cherries and certain vegetables like sugar snap peas.
Symptoms of fructose malabsorption include:
