Whole Milk
It’s not just added sugars you have to look out for if you’re a diabetic. Whole milk, while delicious, can do a lot of harm to your body. It also helps with weight gain, something a lot of people suffering from diabetes need to watch out for.
Skim milk is the best replacement as one cup has 12 grams of carbohydrates. You could also switch to 1% or 2%.
If you are lactose intolerant or don’t like milk you could try rice milk, soy milk, or almond milk if you guy the low sugar varieties.
Hot Dogs
Avoiding hot dogs is a must! They may be delicious but remember, they’re high in saturated fat and sodium. Many people think they can get away with a hot dog or two by trying out turkey dogs, but sadly that’s not the case.
If you love hot dogs, only have them on special occasions. try to limit their intake as much as possible and use them as a treat instead.
