In general, we tend to associate comfort food with junk food, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that all cookies or chocolate bars are unhealthy. Take spinach, for example. A spinach salad would be even healthier than a bought one if you are making it with spinach grown in your own garden.

The Food and Drug Administration actually affirmed that almost 60 percent of nonorganic spinach contains fungicide residue, pesticide, herbicide, a synthetic insecticide (DDT), and permethrin. And this statement refers to the vast majority of vegetables and fruits.
