We are all aware of the importance of calcium in our diets, especially when we get older, and although we are perfectly up to date with this piece of information, it seems that most Americans don’t get enough of this important nutrient in their diets. So, do you think you’re getting enough?

The recommended amount for men aged 51-70 is around 1,000 milligrams daily, while for women around 1,200 mg. Seniors are pretty vulnerable to calcium deficiencies, therefore, more likely to develop osteoporosis. You should include as many calcium sources in your diet as you can.
