Hunger vs. Appetite
Before we dive into the “problem,” we should highlight the difference between hunger and appetite. “Need” is at the crossroads between the two as hunger represents the physical need for nourishing your body, and appetite is the mental need for comfort foods.
Hunger strikes when you have low glucose levels in your blood, while appetite appears as a response to certain foods. The two should never be mixed, even though they have the same outcome. In general, hunger represents the body’s nutritional requirement to function properly, but, according to nutritionists, there’s more to it than just that.
