But, because the supplement market isn’t regulated in the same way as prescription medicine, some natural remedies have very little evidence to back up their efficiency.
Red clover is one of the few examples showing some promise in clinical studies. Research shows that red clover might effectively reduce the frequency of severe hot flashes.
But, before you race to buy a bottle, bear in mind that another review of clinical trials showed that red clover extract wasn’t any more valuable than a placebo.
So, while red clover makes it onto our list of natural remedies for hot flashes, it might be an idea to look at other options with more solid scientific evidence behind them.
