Oat bran is a rich source of both insoluble and soluble fiber. Just 95 grams of raw oat bran contain almost 15 grams of fiber, making it an excellent option for those who deal with constipation frequently.
A last-year study demonstrated its effectiveness as a constipation treatment in a geriatric hospital. Patients were asked to consume oat bran instead of taking laxative pills daily for about two weeks. The results were astonishing. Approximately 60 percent of patients stopped using laxatives in treating constipation.
They even said that oat bran is an impressive alternative to OTC meds. So, what do you think?

Great list ! You could also include whole wheat and bran, bananas and cabbage. Many of us find these to be very effective.
