Everybody knows that prunes work as natural laxatives. As a matter of fact, prunes are probably the most commonly used natural laxatives out there. Only 28 grams of prunes contain 2 grams of fiber and, you can add to that sorbitol as well (a type of sugar alcohol).
Its name may not sound ‘healthy,’ but this type of sugar alcohol acts as an osmotic agent, alluring water into your intestines, which, obviously, induces bowel movements.
And that’s not all… Prunes do so much more. Studies demonstrated that prunes consumption could maximize the frequency of stools while enhancing consistency much better than any other natural laxatives.

Great list ! You could also include whole wheat and bran, bananas and cabbage. Many of us find these to be very effective.
