6. Vegetable juice
Ahhh, a refreshing glass of vegetable juice is always welcomed after a long day of work, but if you’re not making it with your own hands, forget about what I’ve just said. When prepped in the comfort of your own kitchen, vegetable juice gives you quite a health punch, but we can’t say the same regarding bought versions.
For example, an 8-ounce serving of a popular vegetable juice brand has more than 400 milligrams of sodium, meaning 17 percent of the RDI in one bottle! If you don’t want to exclude this habit from your life, at least read the nutrition labels first.
Luckily, some brands have low-sodium versions. If you’re fortunate enough, you can even find vegetable juice brands with no more than 140 milligrams of sodium.
