Consuming way too many carrots or, actually, any foods that are high in beta-carotene can turn your skin orange. This is particularly true for the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands. Wondering how is this possible?

Well, when you eat large quantities of carrots, you’re also indulging way too much beta-carotene. The excess of it has nowhere to go but under the skin, as storage. When it gets stored under your skin, you may notice a change in the color, namely orange.

However, carrots are not that unique. Pumpkins and sweet potatoes can also turn your skin orange, and also due to beta-carotene.
