4. Soy can cause low sperm count.

Bad news, gentlemen! Soy consumption can cause a lower sperm count. Still, there is not much scientific research to point that out, but one study found that a high isoflavone intake, commonly known as soy, can result in decreased fertility.

Again, there’s limited evidence to support the statement, but there’s no need to take risks if you want heirs. If you’re a woman, the effects appear to be quite similar. Soy acts as an endocrine disruptor, meaning that fertility hormones could be affected.

Plus, several studies have shown that high doses of isoflavones can increase the chances of developing breast cancer.
