18. Nut and Seed Butters
Unfortunately, not all but and seed butters are created equal, so you’ll have to check their labels before buying any. Plant-based nut and seed butters should be found in your shopping cart. No matter what you choose (peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter, or sunflower butter), you’ll get a variety of nutrients and vitamins from a spread.
Rachel Fine, M.S., R.D., C.S.S.D., C.D.N, notes that these nut and seed butters are excellent sources of protein, antioxidants, monounsaturated fats, and fiber. She added that, although almond butter tastes quite similar to peanut butter, if you choose it, you’ll get twice the amount of iron.
Check your pantry; you may still have an almond butter jar somewhere.
