Casu marzu

This food is a traditional Sardinian sheep milk cheese and translated into English is “rotten/putrid cheese”. Casu marzu contains live insect larvae and is a delicacy in some countries like Sardinia. This traditional cheese it’s made by putting fly larvae into Pecorino cheese for speeding up fermentation and breaking down the fats. The larvae become white worms for about 8 mm and they can launch themselves from the cheese for distances up to 6 in.

  1. I’m far more concerned about the foods, and drugs, they continue to allow to be sold in this country that are banned in other countries.
