Tulips
Does it come as a surprise to learn that you can eat Tulips? Their flavor differs depending on their varieties. But they are generally said to taste like a sweet version of lettuce, or baby peas, with a consistency similar to cucumbers.
When Tulips are harvested organically and are culinary-safe, their petals are edible. However, eating a Tulip’s bulb, stem, or leaves is not advisable.
Herb Flowers
All of your favorite herbs, including chives, basil, mint, rosemary, oregano, dill, and cilantro, have edible flowers.
The flavor of herb flowers is usually somewhat milder than the leaves, so you can toss them in whole rather than chopping them as fine as you would the leaves.
Herb flowers can be added to vegetable dishes and as a tasty garnish for soups. You can even toss a few with other flowers for a show-stopping salad!
