Copycat Recipe: PF Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp sesame oil, divided
- 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 2 garlic cloves, minced6
- basil leaves, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 head butter lettuce, separated into leaves
- 2 small green onions, sliced
- Optional: Sriracha sauce or chili garlic sauce to taste
Directions:
- In a medium skillet or wok over medium heat, heat up 1 tbsp of the sesame oil. Add in the mushrooms, and occasionally stir until golden brown and softened. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
- Add one more tbsp of sesame oil to the skillet and bring your heat back up. Add the chicken and cook until done, crumbling the meat as it cooks. Drain the fat, if needed. Add the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds.
- Add the mushrooms back into the skillet, sprinkle in the basil leaves, and stir to mix.
- Meanwhile, combine the teriyaki sauce, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ground ginger, cornstarch, and sriracha in a mixing bowl. Whisk to combine them.
- Pour the sauce over your chicken mixture and stir to evenly coat. Keep cooking until heated and a bit thickened, about a minute.
- Spoon into the leaves of lettuce, or you can scoop over some rice bowls.
