We typically think of color additives as the least dangerous ingredients in any product. After all, they’re just used to give out favorite items fun, vibrant colors, right?

Well, considering that you’re either ingesting these materials or putting them on your skin in the case of some cosmetics and drugs, the FDA has every reason to ban some of them such as ferrous chloride, ferrous sulfate, or calcium carbonate.

Some of these ingredients have been linked to liver cancer primarily, but also other types of cancer, thanks to extensive research and lab testing. So, no, colors are not as harmless as they might seem!
