4. Sugary drinks
The consumption of sugary drinks is strongly associated with an increased risk of gout in both men and women. In fact, according to the Arthritis Foundation, a study revealed that people who drink two or more sugary sodas every single day are at an 85 percent higher risk for developing this painful disease than those who drink less than one soda per month.
Now, put that soda away and try to make some lifestyle changes such as exercising more while controlling your overall diet in order to avoid gout flare-ups. Much like our advice with alcohol, you can never go wrong with good old water.
