While we all know that certain types of cancers are linked to several unhealthy habits such as smoking and drinking, there are others triggered by our poor culinary choices. When you constantly eat junk food and make bad food decisions, you’re literally one step closer to developing one of the deadliest illnesses in the United States, namely the dreaded ‘C’ word, cancer.
There are tons of food products out there that contain carcinogens (any type of substance that promotes the formation of cancer). It’s our job to select the good from the bad ones and stay consistent when it comes to healthy eating choices.
However, even if carcinogenic foods are tied to a higher risk of cancer, it doesn’t mean that you’ll develop cancer after eating a bag of potato chips. It’s normal to consume this type of snack from time to time, but, remember that moderation is key. Plus, your poor diet may not be the only culprit. Your family history can also play an equally crucial role.
Anyhow, bear in mind that only a small amount of all cancers are actually inherited.
