7. Chia Seeds
Although not all of us think of chia seeds as a “fatty” food source, they are for sure. Did you know that an ounce of chia seeds contains almost 10 grams of fat? This is huge, considering that, by calories, these tiny seeds are approximately 80 percent fat.
Vegan and vegetarians should really try to add chia seeds to their diet since they are great high-fat plant food. And we are not talking about any fats either. Chia seeds are loaded with heart-friendly omega-3 fatty acids.
Due to their omega-3 fatty acids called ALA, chia seeds are abundant in many health perks, reducing blood pressure and minimizing the risk of developing heart-related conditions.
