4. Flaxseeds
Flaxseeds are abundant in many essential nutrients, including omega-3 fatty acids and protein. No matter if you’re dealing with constipation or diarrhea, flaxseeds should be part of your diet. However, numerous studies demonstrated the effectiveness of consuming flaxseeds regularly for both diarrhea and constipation.
A recent animal study showed that flaxseeds reduced diarrhea in guinea pigs by up to 84 percent. Plus, they contain both soluble and insoluble fiber. Only 20 grams of flaxseeds pack 4 grams of insoluble fiber and 2 grams of soluble fiber.
You can add a handful to your favorite smoothie, or you can bake them in cookies, muffins, and bread. You can even top them on oatmeal!
