6. Grains
Grains are definitely the smartest option when we are referring to the current situation—coronavirus (Covid-19). Whole grains such as oats, rice, and barley have a much longer shelf life than any other popular but perishable carb sources like bread.
For example, brown rice can be kept at 50–70℉ (10–21℃) for up to three months while farro lasts up to six months at room temperature. They can also be easily added to soups, salads, and casseroles, making them a really versatile non-perishable item. Plus, consuming regularly whole grains may minimize your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers.
