Hydrogenated oils contain trans fats and trans fats are actually seen as one of the most dangerous types of fat out there. The FDA banned hydrogenated oils in 2005, because there’s virtually no safe amount of trans fats to consume.

Just like refined grains, hydrogenated oils are extracted from their natural source through chemicals methods. And, even if FDA banned them, you should always opt for olive oil.
