14. Garlic
Even though it is a pungent spice, garlic has endless health benefits. Just one clove of raw garlic contains 2 percent of the daily value for manganese, 1 percent of the daily value for vitamin C, 2 percent of the daily value for vitamin B6, and no more than 4 calories.
What makes it even more unique is the fact that garlic can improve blood glucose management while regulating cholesterol. In a recent study, participants with high blood pressure who ate garlic for about 12 weeks daily were able to reduce their blood pressure by 10 percent.
So, don’t judge a book by its cover!
