Whole-Fat Dairy Products

For those who are not lactose intolerant, dairy products can be incredibly healthy. They’re rich in protein, calcium, vitamins, and minerals. The full-fat choices, however, offset all those benefits with an unhealthy dose of saturated fat.

So, obviously, if you opt for the low fat or non-fat varieties you’ll still get all the nutrients without the added calories or fat.

But what if all these healthier options don’t hit the spot? In that case, your best bet is to limit your portions. If you can’t cut full-fat cheese out of your diet, eat less instead!

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has quickly made its way to many favorites lists, especially in terms of beauty care. But what about in terms of nutrition? Does this seemingly wonderful product deserve the spotlight?

The thing is, coconut oil, cocoa butter, palm oil, and palm kernel oil are derived from plants and they contain saturated fats. Use them in small doses and always make sure to read the product label. The last thing you need is to sabotage your cholesterol levels.

Remember, even if the front of the packaging might make a product seem 100% healthy and good for you, you don’t know unless you check the ingredients list.
