Take A Breath And De-Stress
Easier said than done, we know. But, distract yourself with something that makes you happy. Go on a hike, do yoga, meet up with a friend, or go out for a meal. You can also write your thoughts into a journal, re-organize your home, and do other things that calm you down for a while.
Taking little breaks from stressful times makes the hard times more bearable. Studies show that you’re much more likely to crave sweets, fatty foods, and energy-dense choices when you’re stressed, especially if you usually use food and cravings to deal with stress.
The problem isn’t eating. It’s WHAT you are eating. Most people who feel stressed go for junk food right away, not healthy options.
