6. Extra virgin olive oil

Extra virgin olive oil is not virgin at all when it comes to its cholesterol-lowering properties (and it’s not just that). This oil packs cancer-fighting polyphenols. In fact, olive oil is the main character of the Mediterranean Diet which is often associated with a reduced risk of developing certain chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease, diabetes, and, of course, cancer.

You should definitely replace that corn oil with extra virgin olive oil. A recent study found that swapping corn oil to extra virgin olive oil will significantly decrease your “bad” cholesterol levels.
Also, olive oil consumption reduces inflammation, boosts blood vessel health, promotes weight loss and enhances your immune system. What more could you possibly want from a few drops of oil?

And you know what it has in abundance…. versatility! And that’s great news because extra virgin olive oil is perfect for cooking, frying, sautéing, poaching, dressing and baking. You can even use it as a make-up remover, for God’s sake.
