Although this Chick-fil-A classic contains less than the allotted amount of salt per day, you still don’t want to be eating something with this much sodium in one sitting.

“This is a ‘classic’ way to earn a parched mouth after this meal from the salt whammy,” Moreno jokes. “The bread may contribute some salt, but you’re likely getting the most from the seasoned breading on the chicken, the cheese, and the pickles. Perhaps also from the butter on the ‘buttered bun’, if they’re using salted butter,” she explains.

Moreno also points out that French fries are a major culprit. For a healthier alternative, she recommends going for the grilled chicken option. “Go for a grilled chicken sandwich, ditch the cheese, double up the veggies for some potassium, and skip the pickles if you are watching your salt,” she says.
